Nuclear Field Machinist

Job Title: Field Machinist
Location: Various Job Site and Locations.
Hourly Rate: Depending on Experience.

Summary: We are looking for a skilled Field Machinist to operate a variety of machines at various sites and utilities. A great machinist needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. They must have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions.
Responsibilities:
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret documentation (work instructions and blueprints) for the setup of various machines.
- Adhere to all site and company rules, regulations, PPE requirements, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in an industrial setting with industrial, or nuclear experience considered an asset.
- A fundamental understanding of machining processes.
- Proficiency with various field machining equipment including split frames (clamshells), flange facers, boring bars, portable mills, etc.
- A minimum of two (2) years of documented work experience with field machining
- Two (2) years of work experience in a machine shop may be considered providing that applicant can demonstrate adaptation of shop machining principles to field machining.
- Three (3) years of verifiable work experience in the trade (Millwright or Pipe fitter) may also be considered.
- Have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read drawings, reference manuals, and assembly instruction guides.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as working as part of a team.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel extensively and work variable hours.
- Able to pass background screens and drug/alcohol testing as required by our customers.
- TWIC card a plus.

- Perform sustained physical activity, including standing, walking, climbing, and working extended shifts
- Lift, carry, push, and pull tools, materials, and equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and work in varied body positions
- Work at heights and in confined or restricted spaces
- Work in outdoor and indoor environments under varying weather and site conditions
- Work on uneven, slippery, or rough terrain in active industrial or construction settings
- Wear required personal protective equipment, including fall protection and respiratory protection when required
- Maintain situational awareness and communicate effectively to work safely around moving equipment and hazards
