Location: Rock Hill, SC (Must be willing to travel within US)
Hourly Rate: Depending on Experience.

Summary: We are seeking a qualified site safety manager to represent health, safety, and environmental matters on our projects. This individual shall be knowledgeable about federal, state, and client HSE standards. The candidate should be able to provide technical guidance to site supervision on hazard controls. They shall also dress and conduct themselves in a professional manner to ensure safe and successful project completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret OSHA standards CFR 1910 and CFR 1926.
  • Enforce compliance standards in an industrial environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement control solutions.
  • Work closely with project supervision to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Conduct employee observations in the field for risk and behavioral assessments.
  • Communicate positively when coaching employees.
  • Participate in customer meetings and walkdowns as necessary.
  • Use a computer and Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe programs.
  • Complete miscellaneous documentation, including PJBs, JHAs, Permits, etc.
  • Conduct HSE training for employees as necessary.
  • Assist in completing and inspecting site-required HSE permits.
  • Adhere to all site and company rules, regulations, and PPE requirements.
  • Assist the Safety Director by performing site-level investigations.
  • Provide field presence for extended periods of time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  •  A minimum of five (5) years of safety management experience.
  • • Documented completion of OSHA 30-Hour, OSHA 510, and OSHA 500.
  • Current First Aid / CPR / AED Certification.
  • Clear communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Understand recordkeeping requirements for HSE.
  • Understand the importance of incident reporting and the chain of command.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel extensively and work variable hours.
  • Able to pass background screens and drug/alcohol testing as required by our customers.
  • Have a TWIC card or be able to obtain one if requested.

Physical Requirements - Employees must be able to safely perform the essential functions of "the position" with or without reasonable accommodation, including:  
  • Perform sustained physical activity, including standing, walking, climbing, and working extended shifts  
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.  
  • Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and work in varied body positions  
  • Work at heights and in confined or restricted spaces  
  • Work in outdoor and indoor environments under varying weather and site conditions  
  • Work on uneven, slippery, or rough terrain in active industrial or construction settings  
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including fall protection and respiratory protection when required  
  • Maintain situational awareness and communicate effectively to work safely around moving equipment and hazards
