Position Summary
Arc Energy Services is seeking a qualified Quality Assurance Inspector to support quality assurance, quality control, and commercial grade dedication activities within the power generation industry. This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, evaluating, and certifying materials, components, and products to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, engineering specifications, customer expectations, and quality program standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, technical inspection expertise, and the ability to make sound independent decisions while working in demanding industrial and nuclear environments.
Responsibilities
· Perform process and product quality evaluations and conduct special studies and projects as requested by Quality Engineers.
· Investigate and recommend solutions to quality data collection system issues.
· Perform product and material certification activities.
· Control the release and status of acceptable, suspect, and non-conforming materials and products.
· Develop and maintain Quality Assurance record retention systems.
· Work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
· Perform detailed mechanical and visual inspections as required.
· Conduct Commercial Grade Dedication activities in accordance with specifications, drawings, procedures, and test plans to upgrade commercial-grade products to nuclear-grade material.
· Implement Quality Assurance requirements contained within quality planning documents, engineering specifications, order-entry documentation, purchase orders, and applicable regulatory requirements.
· Perform dedication inspections and testing activities and certify resulting documentation.
· Provide accurate and timely data analysis to support customer, supplier, engineering, and quality-related requests.
· Interact with internal and external auditors, customers, suppliers, and regulatory representatives while maintaining effective professional relationships.
· Perform complex inspections and testing using standard and specialized measuring equipment and gauges.
· Maintain compliance with all quality, safety, and company procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
· Ability to create detailed inspection reports and maintain organized quality records and documentation.
· Basic understanding of statistics, algebra, and trigonometry.
· Minimum of one (1) year of nuclear industry experience with working knowledge of 10 CFR 50, Appendix B and ANSI N45.2 quality assurance requirements.
· Current ANSI N45.2.6 Level II, Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Level II, Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) Level II, and Visual Testing (VT-1) Level II certifications.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Self-motivated with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
· Reliable transportation and an unrestricted driver's license.
· Ability to travel extensively based on project requirements.
· Ability to successfully pass background screenings and drug/alcohol testing requirements, including random testing as required by customers.
· Non-U.S. citizens must possess a valid work authorization, green card, or applicable visa.
· High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Five (5) or more years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control activities.
· Five (5) or more years of experience in fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or a related industrial field.
· Five (5) or more years of experience performing mechanical and dimensional inspections.
· Experience with Commercial Grade Dedication programs.
· Previous experience supporting nuclear power generation facilities, fabrication facilities, or nuclear supply chain organizations.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to work at heights and in elevated work environments.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to push, pull, reach, climb, and perform other physical activities required by the position.
· Ability to work in high-temperature industrial environments.
· Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and walk for extended periods.
· Ability to work in confined spaces and congested work areas.
· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including full-body protective clothing and face shields.
· Ability to work in radiation-controlled areas in accordance with plant procedures and requirements.
· Ability to perform visual inspections and use inspection tools and measuring devices throughout the workday.
