Hourly Rate: Depending on Experience.

Summary: We are seeking a skilled Field Machining Manager for a full-time, in-house position with occasional travel requirements. The Field Machining Manager will lead and oversee all field machining operations, ensuring quality workmanship, adherence to safety standards, effective scheduling, and successful project execution.
Responsibilities:
Estimate field machining projects
Determine proper equipment for work scope
Interact with customers in preparation for and during projects
Perform job walkdowns on site as needed
Visit active jobsites as needed
Get quotes from suppliers
Order equipment, tooling, and consumables for projects
Coordinate delivery and pickup of machining equipment to and from jobsites
Maintain Arc owned machining equipment
Assist recruiting department with staffing qualified machinists for projects
Hold annual basic field machining training courses
Build/maintain/manage a team of field machinists
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Fundamental understanding of machining processes
Proficiency in setup and operation of field machining equipment (i.e. split frames, flange facers, boring bars, drills, portable mills, etc.)
Ability to train others in field machining
Basic computing skills
3-5 years of current related experience.
Able to pass background screens and drug/alcohol testing as required by our customers.
TWIC card a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced computing
Experience managing people/projects
Experience working in power plants (nuclear, fossil fuel, natural gas, etc.)
Proficiency with manual shop machines (mills, lathes, etc.)
Proficiency with CNC machining equipment and programs
Existing relationships with a large number of field machinists
Physical Requirements Employees must be able to safely perform the essential functions of "the position" with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
Perform sustained physical activity, including standing, walking, climbing, and working extended shifts
Lift, carry, push, and pull tools, materials, and equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs.
Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and work in varied body positions
Work at heights and in confined or restricted spaces
Work in outdoor and indoor environments under varying weather and site conditions
Work on uneven, slippery, or rough terrain in active industrial or construction settings
Wear required personal protective equipment, including fall protection and respiratory protection when required
Maintain situational awareness and communicate effectively to work safely around moving equipment and hazards
