Recruiter – Traveling Trades Recruiting Specialist
Position Summary
The Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and onboarding skilled traveling tradespeople for industrial, construction, manufacturing, energy, and maintenance projects nationwide. This role focuses on building candidate pipelines, maintaining strong candidate relationships, and ensuring qualified trades professionals are placed quickly to meet client workforce demands.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Source and recruit traveling trades professionals, including electricians, millwrights, pipefitters, welders, ironworkers, HVAC technicians, and maintenance technicians.
- Conduct phone screenings and evaluate candidates' skills, certifications, travel availability, and work history.
- Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the hiring and deployment process.
- Verify licenses, certifications, safety training, and employment eligibility documentation.
- Coordinate onboarding activities, including drug screens, background checks, and client-specific requirements.
- Update applicant tracking systems (ATS) and maintain accurate candidate records.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of active and passive candidates.
- Assist in filling open job orders under the guidance of senior recruiters.
- Support recruiters and account managers with workforce planning and staffing initiatives.
- Meet individual recruiting activity metrics and performance goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- One to two years of recruiting, staffing, customer service, sales, or related experience preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
- Proficiency with ATS, CRM, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of the skilled trades or construction industry is preferred.
